Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 2026
We respect your privacy. This site uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics, Google Fonts to improve visual presentation, Qomon forms to collect user submissions, and Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our forms from spam and automated abuse. By using this site, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. For questions, contact us via team@humansincontrol.org.
Information We Collect
- Anonymous Usage Data: Collected through Google Analytics (e.g., page views, events, browser type, and IP address). Analytics runs by default to measure site traffic, and a small ad-measurement cookie runs by default too, so we can tell which ads led to a pledge – this never includes ad personalization or remarketing. If you decline, we set no analytics or ad cookies and send only anonymous, cookieless measurement to Google. You can turn analytics off at any time using the control in “Analytics Preferences” below.
- User-Provided Data: Information you voluntarily submit through Qomon forms (e.g., name, email, or other form fields).
- Fonts: Google Fonts may load from Google servers, which may log IP addresses. No other personal information is collected.
- Bot Protection: Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans apart from bots. When you load a page with a form, Cloudflare may process technical details about your browser and your IP address to make that call. Turnstile is not an advertising tool, and we do not use it to track you across other sites.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the website and its features
- Improve site functionality and user experience
- Respond to inquiries submitted through Qomon forms
- Monitor site traffic and usage trends through Google Analytics
Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information with service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as Google (Analytics, Fonts), Qomon, and Cloudflare (form bot protection), under confidentiality agreements.
Cookies and Tracking
We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and which ads led to a pledge. Both the traffic-measurement cookie and a basic ad-measurement cookie run by default; we never use them for ad personalization or remarketing. If you decline, or use the control in “Analytics Preferences” below, we set no cookies and send only anonymous, cookieless measurement to Google. We honor Global Privacy Control, so if your browser sends that signal we never set any advertising cookies.

Meta Pixel
We use Meta Pixel on our pledge, share-your-story, contact-your-rep, and volunteer pages to measure ad performance for HIC campaigns.
- Scope. The Meta Pixel does NOT load on the homepage, About, Policy, How to Help, Privacy, or other context pages. It only loads on the four conversion pages listed above.
- What Meta receives when the Pixel loads: the page URL, the referring page, your browser and device info, your IP address, and a cookie identifier (
_fbp). If you submit a form or take a contact action on one of those pages, Meta also receives the name of the action (e.g.Lead,CompleteRegistration,Contact) and an event identifier. - What Meta does NOT receive. The Pixel does not transmit your email, phone number, name, ZIP, address, or message content. We have turned off the Facebook setting (called Automatic Advanced Matching) that would otherwise share that data.
- See Meta's Data Policy for how Meta uses this information.
You have three ways to opt out:
- Use the “Opt out of Meta Pixel” button in the next section.
- Enable Global Privacy Control in your browser. We honor GPC by default.
- Use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer (which scrolls to the next section).
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information. The Meta Pixel on our conversion pages is the only third-party tool on this site that could be considered “sharing” under some state privacy laws. Use the button below to stop the Pixel from loading on this browser.
